PACE Programme:
PACE (Pathways to Arts and Cultural Employment) is a programme funded by Work and Income to support people in creative fields on the unemployment benefit. Set up by the government in 2001, the scheme was a great achievement for the creative industries, recognising the contributions of creative people to society, culture and the economy. For the participants, the programme inspires participants to take charge of their creative careers – offering guidance and mentoring to clients and exploring employment and income generating opportunities across the spectrum of the arts.
If you are an artist or involved in the creative industries, are currently registered unemployed and seeking to achieve employment or self-employment in your chosen field, PACE could be for you.
If you:
• Have a career history or tertiary qualification in the creative sector.
• Are motivated to achieve financial independence as a self employed creative worker.
• Are seeking employment in the creative sector.
• Are passionate about your practice and have drive to succeed.
• Want to achieve personal, professional and creative development.
The PACE programme can provide:
• Career guidance and support from practising creative professionals to develop a personal work programme.
• Workshops to assist your personal and professional development.
• Assistance to develop networks and access to work experience and employment.
